Designing What Comes Next: My Letter to America at The National Constitution Center

Gen Z inherited a world on fire. We were raised on the promise of the "American Dream," only to realize that the blueprints were outdated and the foundation was cracking. Today, the "melting pot" we were taught about in school feels spoiled—tainted by systemic racism, the abuse of power, and widening class inequality.
But we aren’t just watching it burn. We are the designers of what comes next.
Recently, I had the honor of presenting my Letter to America during the Youth250: Our Declaration event, hosted by Made By Us at the National Constitution Center. Standing in a place so rooted in history made one thing clear: the American story is still being written, and this time, our generation holds the pen.
To Those in the Middle of the Pivot
This post—and my letter—is for those of you who are currently "mid-everything." Maybe you are mid-pivot in your career, mid-questioning your faith in our institutions, or mid-transition in your identity.
In this current climate, it is okay to feel:
Scared of the uncertainty.
Angry at the systemic failures.
Confused by the rhetoric.
Regretful of the time wasted on old systems.
But I want to remind you that you are also empowered, passionate, expressive, and educated. We are the most informed generation in history, and that knowledge is our greatest tool for civic renewal.
Reimagining Democracy: The Youth250 Movement
The Youth250 movement is about more than just a milestone anniversary of the Declaration of Independence; it’s about a Declaration of Now. Working with Made By Us, I joined young leaders from across the country to discuss how we can redesign democracy to be inclusive, equitable, and accountable.
My Letter to America isn't just a list of grievances—it’s a design brief for a future that actually serves all of us. It’s an invitation to stop asking for a seat at the table and to start building a better table altogether.

The world is changing because we are changing it. Let’s keep designing what comes next.
